   CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Statement of Interest (SOI) As part of CEPEHRG’s mandate to improve and expand the provision of sexual health, human rights and social justice for sexual minorities, particularly,  LGBTI persons in Ghana, CEPEHRG seeks to build the capacity of highly innovative and motivated individuals with strong passion and will to advocate for the rights of LGBTI community in Ghana through a speakers’ bureau  training. The speakers’ bureau training will be organized to build the capacity of advocates to be able to respond appropriately to LGBT issues, provide accurate information to the media and other interested parties/organizations on LGBT issues. The speakers’ will represent a pool of advocates who will engage key policy makers and other stakeholders through public actions and presentations. Should be between the ages 22 to 25 years of age and willing to live with employer. Should be willing to learn driving. Driving experience will be an advantage. No phone calls or inbox messages please. Responsibilities: Send on errands, take care of house, Garden, cleaning, washing and any other household chores assigned. 3 April 2017 Photo Credit: Nicholas Feustel Dear Partners and Allies, The Board of the Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+) is pleased to welcome  Dr. Laurel Sprague  as our new Executive Director.  Dr. Sprague is a passionate social justice activist and a widely respected educator and researcher who has extensively championed the human rights and needs of key populations and people living with HIV.  In addition, Dr. Sprague is a long time organizational ally. She has served as the regional coordinator for GNP+NA, the North American Affiliate of GNP+, and as a GNP+ Board Member, and has provided technical support to PLHIV networks worldwide on the People Living with HIV Stigma Index research and analysis for nearly a decade. As a person living with HIV, Dr. Sprague has been firmly rooted in the struggle for HIV, human rights and social justice since her own diagnosis in 1991. United Nations Makes History on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity

United Nations Makes History on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity  UN human rights body establishes an Independent Expert   ( Geneva, June 30, 2016)     In a defining vote, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted a resolution on “Protection against violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation, and gender identity”, to mandate the appointment of an Independent Expert on the subject. It is a historic victory for the human rights of all persons who are at risk of discrimination and violence because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, 28 human rights groups said today. This resolution builds upon two previous resolutions, adopted by the Council in 2011 and 2014.   The Core Group of seven Latin American countries – Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Uruguay – and 41 additional countries jointly presented the text.    The resolution was adopted by a vote of 23 in favor, 18 again...
