Let Your Voice Be Heard—Help Save Women's Lives
Jhpiego's Innovations Team is among the finalists of "Saving Lives at Birth: A Grand Challenge for Development," an international competition to identify and scale up global health approaches to saving the lives of pregnant women and newborns in developing countries during childbirth.
As part of the competition, an online campaign is under way to select the People's Choice winner from among 77 candidates. Jhpiego's two entries deserve your support:
  • E-Partogram
    is an affordable, easy-to-use, hand-held electronic decision-making tool for preventing or managing complications during labor. 

  • Application for Transition Grant
    is a series of interventions designed for earlier detection of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia—the second leading cause of maternal death worldwide—and initiation of treatment and referral to emergency obstetric care.

The Famous Christian Village in Accra Written by: Prince Kweku This famous ‘village’ with a population of almost two thousand is sandwiched between the University of Ghana, Legon and the Achimota Secondary School. Its location is four minutes’ drive from the Legon campus. The inhabitants are predominantly Ewes. The young men are mainly golf caddies while the women are engaged in a variety of activities to support their husbands and family.
