If you are a man or woman who is sexually active, the risk of getting HIV is always present regardless if you are a man who sleeps with other men or a woman that sleeps with other women.

The risk applies to anyone who is having sex so please always keep in mind that any type of sexual activity puts you at risk of receiving HIV… even if it’s your first time.

WHAT IS HIV?

HIV is Human immunodeficiency virus, this is the virus that causes AIDS. HIV is an infection that is spread through the exchange of blood, semen or vaginal fluids of a person who is HIV positive comes in contact with a cut or infection with the inside lining of the anus, vagina, mouth or urethra.

HIV AND AIDS AFFECTS US ALL

That’s why it’s important to talk about the risks of HIV infection and how we can reduce them. Let us talk about sex, sexuality, sexual orientation, and safe sex.

MAKE SAFE SEX THE RIGHT SEX

All the following are things that place you and others at risk of getting HIV

Unsafe sex is when your having oral, vaginal or anal sex without the use of protection like condoms or other sources of contraceptives

If you are sexually active with multiple partners

Sharing sex toys

KEEP SEX HIV FREE… THAT’S HOT!!!

Despite the dangers of contracting HIV, you can reduce the risk of getting HIV through safe sex activities and lifestyles;

Use a condom every time you engage in penetrative sex

Have regular HIV tests/ check ups with your partner

Stay committed to one partner

Don’t share sex toys

Consider other forms of sexual activity that don’t involve intercourse such as; kissing, rimming, massaging, stroking, tickling, gentle pinching, spanking, holding etc.

Abstain from sex

Masturbation

  1. Great one there but there is actually a small chance of contracting HIV from rimming. Very little though.
