Following the briefing note published by the collective, dated August 29, 2011 about the case of the four persons arrested and detained for homosexuality in Yaoundé, which had been brought to his knowledge (see HYPERLINK "http://sidado.org/latest/nouveau-cas-darrestation-pour-homosexualite.html" http://sidado.org/latest/nouveau-cas-darrestation-pour-homosexualite.html) the collective of organizations ADEFHO (Association for the defense of homosexuals), SID’ADO (teenagers against HIV/AIDS), COFENHO ( group of families with homosexual children) After collecting the details surrounding the arrest, wish to inform the national and international Community about the following facts:
Ombwa Joseph Magloire 46 years old, painter receives at his home for his work, visits of tourists. Something noticed by his neighbors who on August 10 2011 decided to alert the Gendarmerie Brigade of the Lake in Yaoundé which came to arrest him on the same day at his home and put it in in custody, after collecting a few condoms in his home during the arrest. The gendarmes are asking to recognize that he frequently have sex with (white) expatriates, and to give the names of some so that they will extort them money. Something that Magloire categorically refuses to do.
The next day, i.e. on 11 August, Ntsama Sylvain Séraphin (34 years old) in the company of Tiomela Lontsi Emma (17 years old), decided to visit Magloire in cell. When they arrived, they were alsol arrested by the elements of the gendarmerie brigade of the Lake requesting them to recognize having had homosexual relations with Magloire so that we will be released, the two will refuse and too will be kept in custody with their companion. Following this arrest, the elements of the gendarmerie brigade of Lake decided to search the home of Sylvain. On the day of this search, Ntamack Nicolas (19 years old), who was at the home of Séraphin, is arrested in turn. The elements of the gendarmerie brigade will take gay pornographic films as an exhibit for their homosexuality. Subsequently, Magloire was entrusted to a medical officer for an anal examination, Nicolas past a visit to determine his apparent age. In fact, the gendarmes doubt indeed that he is 19 years old.
They will spend a week in the premises of the gendarmerie brigade of the Lake before be brought before the public prosecutor of the Tribunal of the Mfoundi - Administrative Centre. During interrogation at the police, they have all denied the facts of homosexuality and of sexual molestation which they are accused and currently the matter was entrusted to an investigating judge; something that will delay the case while the 4 men are held in Nkondegui Yaounde central prison.

Thus, of the above, the collective protests vigorously against the arbitrary arrest of four persons and their detention in the central prison of Yaoundé Nkondegui; It condemns and denounces all violations of the fundamental principles of the individual rights perpetrated by the Cameroonian justice and yet guaranteed in the criminal procedure code in force in Cameroon, the first of which is the respect of privacy, the presumption of innocence, the inviolability of the home, etc. The collective deplores the fact that the forces of order, with the complicity of the magistrates, have recourse to such methods, proscribed by the criminal procedure code in force in Cameroon, to arrest and detain individuals because they are homosexual or suspected as such. the collective remains mobilized on this arrest and all those past or those that arise The collective
